Best Conference Paper Award

The European Urban Research Association awards the author of the best conference paper. The award winner will be presented at the EURA 2017 conference in Warsaw and mentioned on the EURA website.

Eligibility

As a rule, all the Participants of the conference, who submitted a full paper are going to be taken into consideration. The candidate is not required to be a EURA member. Candidates must have an accepted proposal in one of the conference tracks and have to submit a full paper till 15th of May 2017 (via electronic platform of the conference).  

The paper length should be 5-7000 words or up to 13-15 pages including references, tables and figures. The paper contents would include: research background, justification, relevance and objective(s); theoretical/conceptual framework/ hypotheses; methodology; analysis and discussion of results/findings; conclusions. The titles and subtitles should be indicative of the content and support the paper’s structure and organization.

The Editor of Urban Research & Practice will give active consideration to publication of the paper in the Journal but the paper is subject to the normal double blind refereeing process.

If any of the Participants submitting the full paper does not wish the paper to be considered for the award, we ask to explicitly state that on the paper via email to Local Organising Committee (eura2017@uw.edu.pl).

Nomination/Selection

Track chairs of the conference will nominate a limited number of excellent papers. The decision will be made by a EURA Awards Committee. The members of this committee are:

  • Prof. Dr. Karsten Zimmermann, EURA President
  • Prof. Dr Kristof Steyvers, Ghent University
  • Dr. Katarzyna Szmigiel-Rawska, University of Warsaw

 

Emerging Scholar Award

The European Urban Research Association gives the Emerging Scholar Award for scholars whose work exemplifies outstanding scholarship in urban affairs. The recipient receives a 1.000 Euro honorarium. The honorarium is a travel grant that will allow the winner to participate at the next UAA conference (Toronto) or EURA conference (Tilburg). The award winner will be presented at the EURA 2017 conference in Warsaw.

Eligibility

As a rule, all the Participants of the conference pursuing doctoral research, regardless of academic discipline, who submitted full paper are going to be taken into consideration. The candidate is not required to be a EURA member. Candidates must have an accepted proposal in one of the conference tracks and have to submit a full paper till 15th of May 2017 (via electronic platform of the conference). The paper must show that it is a part of a PhD work.

If any of the PhD candidates submitting the full paper does not wish the paper to be considered for the award, we ask to explicitly state that on the paper or via email to Local Organising Committee (eura2017@uw.edu.pl).

Nomination/Selection

Track chairs of the conference will nominate a limited number of excellent papers. The decision will be made by a jury composed of members of the governing board of EURA and the Warsaw local organizing team.
